Lincoln Road – c. 1905

An interesting old postcard shot showing what I believe to be the last block of Lincoln Road looking north towards Riverside Dr and the river. It looks like a nice quiet small town road.

Looks like the house with the turret is still there too

Have a good Wednesday everyone!

  1. What a pic! The horsedrawn wagon looks like the iceman’s and, is that a gas fired street lamp? It appears to have a vent at the top. I love these shots without trees.

  2. This is where I live! Thanks!

  3. Looks like the “Widow’s Walk” was a very popular feature back then. You can see it on 2 or 3 houses in this picture, and if you look at the current Google maps view, it looks like at least 4 of them had it and can still be seen on the roof.

  4. Uzzy, those are faux widow’s walks as there is no entry to them. But I like them nonetheless. Too bad so many are now divided into apartments…

  5. Jay Thompson Ricard

Thanks for this photo. …I just love looking back to simpler times from my hometown

  6. 1890s homes. Gorgeous.

  7. Great postcard. Good find Andrew!
